Abstract

Recent research combining genetics and biogeography, i.e. phylogeography, has shown that glacial refugia
have had a previously unsuspected role in shaping modern biodiversity in temperate regions, in particular to
explain both the survival of paleoendemics and the speciation of neoendemics
