Abstract

A poco più di quaranta anni dai primi conteggi cromosomici noti per le piante (Strasburger, 1882), il primissimo contributo per l'Italia fu fornito nel 1925 da A. Chiarugi, indiscusso fondatore della Scuola pisana in ambito citotassonomico.
