New podcast: “About Gender. Studi d'altro genere”

2025-05-26

Gender-based violence is a complex and structural phenomenon that requires in-depth and multidisciplinary tools of analysis. To contribute to this reflection, we created About Gender. Studi d'altro genere, a podcast dedicated to gender studies with a particular focus on gender-based violence.

Conceived, directed, written, and produced by Matteo Botto, research fellow at the University of Genoa, the podcast is part of the PRIN project GeNoMa Violence. Gender Norms, Masculinities and Violence against Women, coordinated by Professor Luisa Stagi.

The podcast explores gender-based violence from multiple perspectives through a series of episodes in Italian, involving experts in the field. Topics covered include gender and identity, masculinities, work, parenting, online violence, disability, health, language, migration processes, and anti-gender movements. The goal is to raise awareness and prevent violence by providing the public with insights grounded in scientific research.

The project is funded by NextGenerationEU and PNRR ItaliaDomani of the Italian Ministry of University and Research. It is part of the University of Genoa's Gender Equality Plan (GEP) and supported by the university’s Equal Opportunities Committee (CPO).
