Lgbt+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans*) studies are a field of research still poorly explored in Italy but a complex area of investigation for cultural, theoretical and methodological reasons. This article discusses the relationship between Lgbt+ studies and mixed method research design, highlighting the benefits of quantitative methods. Combining LGBT+ studies, mixed methods and an intersectional approach can be a further step towards realizing the full potentiality of a gender-sensitive approach in studying discrimination.
Keywords: Lgbt+, mixed methods, employment discrimination, intersectionality.
