Les adaptations des œuvres littéraires classiques en bandes dessinées

Abstract

Comics are a very popular medium nowadays, with very important sales. In this panorama, adaptations from literary texts take an important place. The purpose of this contribution is to analyse a corpus of French literary texts adapted in comics between 1999-2009. The corpus is divided into different genres, from theatre to tales or novels, from the Middle Ages to the present days. This corpus articulates with the different forms of adaptation, depending on the choice of the type of texts, of the mode of inter-semiotic translation, from fidelity to re-creation, parody, interpretation, analogy, and on its purposes, from popularization to transfer of emotions.
