Les idéologies illustrées dans la bande dessinée maghrébine: le cas de la BD algérienne francophone

Abstract

The Algerian comic strip reveals many political standpoints on behalf of the Algerian draughtsmen on the disillusion of the Algerian population after independence in 1962. The Algerian comic strips appear sometimes changeable in the treatment of the sociopolitical events, but it should be said that a majority of draughtsmen defy censure and turn into ridiculous political personalities sometimes to the danger of their life. Humour becomes a weapon with double edge able to clarify, with its manner, the recent History of Algeria. The caricature is also a support for a political standpoint against the political system. The comic strip, as for it, will have recourse to comic to attenuate the gravity of certain events or to sensitize the readers on their own living conditions.
