Abstract

This presentation of the novel by francophone Mauritian author Amal Sewtohul aims to investigate the key concept of “origins”, particularly through the recurring image of the container, a floating object temporarily destined as a residence, where the protagonist is born and lives the fundamental experiences of his life. The examination of the different meanings attributed to the container allows for a comprehensive interpretation of the title of the novel: "Made in Mauritius".
