Abstract

That comics have often been the vehicle of stereotypes is a known fact and confirmed by research (see, for example, the studies of Barshay 1974; Glascock and Preston-Schreck, 2004; Pinet, 1978; Shaheen, 1994, to name a few). Comics, especially popular comics, seem like a privileged object for understanding its users and, ultimately, the company that produced it.
