Abstract

The graphic novel series Kid Beowulf by Alexis E. Fajardo follows the adventures of the 12-year-old Beowulf, as - together with his twin brother Grendel - he travels across the world literature’s greatest epic poems. In this study the second volume of the series – Kid Beowulf and the Song of Roland (2010) – is analyzed in relation to the Carolingian tradition and, in particular, to the Old French Chanson de Roland.
