Abstract

In this study, we analyze the discursive forms containing xenophobic, racist and sexist metaphorical figures in a corpus made of French and Italian extreme right discourse (the press, the speeches, the web sites of the National Front and Lega). During 2013, we noticed political speeches related to the presence of two black ministers in the governments of both countries: Christiane Taubira (under the Hollande government) and Cécile Kyenge (under the Letta government). We study these rhetorical figures, including iconographic representations, and the « double language » typical of extreme right speech which, behind puns, hides an intentional aim clearly linked to colonialist ideology.
