The monographic issue collects some contributions focused on the interrelationships between translation and terminology starting from the perspective of written and oral translation practice. As CABRÉ (2004) points out, translation and terminology (here understood more than anything else in its application aspect of process and product) are two disciplines with different points in common, such as the linguistic basis, the communicative purpose, the interdisciplinarity, a relatively recent academic recognition and a development in which practice preceded the theoretical formulation. It should be emphasized that translation has played and plays an important role in the development of terminology, as a discipline and as a terminographic practice, constituting together with multilingual writing an essential tool in the projection of terminological work in a multilingual dimension, a factor that has contributed to a significant enrichment lexical of the languages of Europe (PRANDI and ROSSI 2017).
