The volume gathers the proceedings of the study day "Directrices de conscience, théologiennes et prédicatrices au XVIIe siècle dans le monde francophone," which took place in Udine on May 7, 2024. The event is part of the scientific activities organized by the research units of Udine and Genoa within the framework of the PRIN 2022 project ( Bringing out an Invisible Female Literary Corpus: Religious Writing in the French-Speaking World at the Time of the Counter-Reformation. Census And Repertoire of a New Corpus. Towards a Reorganization of the Canon in a Gendered Perspective - Prot. 2022LX5XMY). The day provided an opportunity to take a first look at the question of the auctoritas of several female figures that are the subject of ongoing research.
